Meridian (Visualizer Preview)
Two reels from the geometry engine, before the full drop
Been sitting on these for a few days. Not because they weren’t ready. Because once you post something, the anticipation window closes.
Meridian is a 135 BPM trance/techno hybrid piece I’ve been working on for a while: multiple drops and sections, and more automation curves than I care to count. The track is finished. The 4K render is not yet. But these two reels from the visualizer are a taste of what I’m working on with the visualizers, and I wanted to get them in front of you before the full release.
The visual engine is programmatic: geometric pulses that respond to transient peaks, section changes, and drop energy. I wrote the render pipeline myself. The geometry isn’t decorating the music; it’s reading the signal and translating it. When a drop hits, the shapes don’t explode. They collapse inward, then rebuild. It felt right for how this track breathes.
The palette is intentional: near-black background, deep violet for the sustained geometry, electric edges where the energy spikes. No color transitions between sections. The light level responds to amplitude; the shape responds to timing. Simple constraints, complex behavior.
What I was trying to solve: visualizers that react to everything look like they’re reacting to nothing. The eye needs contrast to read motion. So the base state is almost still. Then the drop arrives.
The full piece runs eight and a half minutes. There’s a lot more geometry where that came from.
The 4K full-length render is next. I’ll post when it’s ready, likely as a proper YouTube release with liner notes.
If you’ve been following the mixing arc here, this is where those concepts go: the transient decisions, the mono check, the saturation choices. You can see (not just hear) what they did to the final shape of the track.
More soon.
Meridian drops April 3rd. Pre-save it here.
